New Salon in Croton Celebrates Opening

Croton’s newest beauty salon will celebrate its opening this Friday, at 7 p.m., with a fantasy hair show and live music. The Dragonfly Hair Salon is located in the Van Wyck Shopping Plaza at 54 Maple St., inside of the nail salon.

The Dragonfly Hair Salon is the newest addition to Croton businesses, which err on the side of sustainable. The salon recycles everything from plastic and paper down to used tubes of color.

Owner, Tara Colavecchio, said, “We use biodegradable wallpaper and rugs, we don’t use paper or plastic [cups], we recycle all of our empty tubes of color and foils.. and we use botanical hair products.”

The grand opening will continue until 10 p.m., and appetizers and refreshments (including champagne) will be served, complimentary of the salon. There will also be a live steel drum band.
