BEDFORD, N.Y. —A classic car show, an antiques show featuring Martha Stewart and a fire house open house are some of the events happening around Bedford this weekend.

Friday, Oct. 12

Classic Car Show: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Lions Club of Bedford Hills will host a car show with food, vendors and prizes for the best entries. The cost is $15 to enter a vehicle in the show. Cancer Risk in the Jewish Population: Is It In Our Genes?: 7:30 p.m. Dr. Susan Klugman from the Program for Jewish Genetic Health at Yeshiva University will discuss familial cancer risks in the Ashkenazi Jewish community. Temple Sharaay Tefila, 89 Baldwin Road, Bedford Corners.

Saturday, Oct. 13

BHES Fifth Grade Pancake Breakfast: 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The fifth grade students at Bedford Hills Elementary will hold a pancake breakfast in the school cafeteria. The cost  is $6 for adults and $4 for children. All proceeds will go to offset the cost of fifth grade special events including field trips to "Wicked" on Broadway and to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Historic Cemetery Tour and Headstone Cleaning: 9:30 a.m. Friends Of Bedford Burying Grounds invites the public to come explore the historical Buxton Cemetery, one of Bedford's 30-plus graveyards. Bedford Town Historian John Stockbridge will give a talk followed by an interactive demonstration of headstone cleaning. Bring a camera and wear shoes suitable for uneven terrain. Buxton Cemetery, 85 Succabone Road, Bedford Hills.

Bedford Historical Society Antiques and Design Show: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door. Bedford Village Green, 14 Pound Ridge Road, Bedford.

Presentation and Cocktail Reception with Designer Jeffrey Bilhuber and Introduction by Martha Stewart: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Interior designer and author Jeffrey Bilhuber's slide show and lecture will give insights into his newly published book "The Way Home: Reflections on American Beauty." Bedford Historical Society member Martha Stewart will introduce Bilhuber’s presentation after the antiques show ends for the day. Tickets start at $125. Bedford Village Lions Club Sports Equipment Buy/Sell Event: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lions Club is hosting a community event where anyone can donate or consign gently used sports equipment. Drop off sports equipment and gear from Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bedford Village Elementary School, 45 Court Road, Bedford.

Sports Equipment Buy/Sell Event continues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bedford Historical Society Antiques and Design Show continues from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bedford Hills Fire Department Annual Open House/Fire Prevention Day: 1 to 4 p.m. The event will include demonstrations, tours of the fire house, fire truck rides, refreshments and fire safety education, all in honor of Fire Prevention Week. Bedford Hills Fire Department, 332 Bedford Road, Bedford Hills.
