Katonah's Running Goddess Announces Annual Charity Race In Somers

KATONAH, N.Y. — The Running Goddess in Katonah announced plans to host its third annual “The Running Goddess 5K: The Power of One” Run/Walk Sunday, May 17 at Lasdon Park in Katonah.

Bettina Sementilli, the founder of The Running Goddess and owner of Cross Sport Woman in Katonah, is a veteran of many marathons and various other races, having run six New York City marathons with an eye toward running this November's marathon.

The 5K is aimed at raising the importance of women's health and education, with proceeds going to local and international groups specializing in that cause.

“Our run/walk is a chance for families to encourage fitness and spend time together outdoors, while coming together to support causes that provide services and scholarships to girls and women.” Sementilli says.

There also will be a kids' 1-mile race for ages 7-12 starting at 9 a.m.

Registration fees for the 5K will be $35 for adults and $25 for students 18 and under, and $20 for the kids' race. Deadline is May 14.
