Cyclists For Cancer Research Institute Fundraiser Riding Through Bedford

YONKERS, N.Y. – The Cancer Research Institute Ride to Conquer Cancer, a two-day 150-mile cycling fundraiser, will be Saturday and Sunday.

This year, there will be more than 107,000 cancer diagnoses in New York and it is estimated  one in four deaths in the United States will be caused by cancer. The ride is a global event, which brings together communities of riders, survivors and their supporters for one common goal -- to conquer cancer.

Money raised through The Ride to Conquer Cancer will enable the Cancer Research Institute to support life-saving immunotherapy research, treatment and education programs at top universities and hospitals in New York City and around the world.

Moments before the start, Jill O'Donnell-Tormey, chief executive officer and director of scientific affairs at the Cancer Research Institute, along with event organizers, will address hundreds of participants in Yonkers and share the total number of participants and money raised.

Day 1 – Saturday, June 6:

Opening Ceremonies  at Tibbetts Brook Park, 355 Midland Ave., Yonkers

Gear drop-off and breakfast:  6-7 a.m.

All participants should be on-site by 6:40 a.m.

Warm-up and stretches: 7 a.m.

Lunch stops: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bedford Village Elementary School, 45 Court Road, Bedford.

Overnight camp and evening activities: Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, 4 Reservation Road, Pound Ridge. Last rider expected at 7:30 p.m.

Day 2 – Sunday, June 7:

Breakfast – 4:30-8:30 a.m. at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Last rider to be on the route by 8:30 a.m.

Lunch Stops – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Commons Park, 301 Commons Park S., Stamford, Conn

Finish Line – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park, 355 Midland Ave., Yonkers. (Last rider expected at 6:30 p.m.)
