BEDFORD HILLS, N. Y. -- APOGEE Fitness & Wellness in Bedford Hills will be hosting on Feb. 5 a day-long "Change of Heart" program of classes to raise awareness of women's heart disease.
Change of Heart is a grassroots fitness program presented by Self magazine that works to educate women about heart disease and stroke in support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement.
“Each year, one in three women die of heart disease and stroke, yet it’s 80 percent preventable,” says Go Red For Women spokeswomen Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum. “Change of Heart connects us with passionate women who are united to take action, like scheduling a well-woman visit for themselves, to protect their hearts and the hearts of their mothers, daughters, sisters and friends.”
The day’s activities will include a full line-up of classes beginning at 6 a.m. including Indoor Cycle, Reformer, Yoga for Wellness, Cycleflex, Interval Strength, Pilates Mat, Pilates on the Ball, Power Yoga and Yin Yoga, and will conclude with a 5:30 p.m. Go Red Power Cycle session.
Throughout the day, there will be surprise contests and raffles. There is a $20 suggested donation to participate, and all participants will receive a subscription to their choice of Self or Glamour magazines for contributing. Non-members are welcome.
