The gala season finale will include compositions by Mozart, Bach and Schubert.

Number one on the list of Bedford Magazine’s Fabulous 50 things to see in Bedford, Bedford Chamber Concerts has played to enthusiastic audiences from throughout the region for more than 10 years.

Twenty-two-year-old Francisco Fullana, born in Palma de Mallorca in Spain, will look to continue that tradition.

After giving his first recital when he was eight, Fullana performed the following year with the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra.  At 15 he made his debut at the National Auditory of Music in Madrid.  In 2006 he gave his first recital in New York City and performed on From the Top, on NPR.  Fullana is nationally recognized in Spain where he has performed for the Royal Family, on national television and radio.

The closing program will include Bach’s famous Chaconne for Violin from his Partita No. 2 with a piano accompaniment by Robert Schumann.  Bach’s composition is considered one of the most technically and musically challenging pieces for the violin.  It will also showcase Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in D major, known as the “Turkish” because of an exotic-sounding section in the last movement.

BCC concerts take place in the Fellowship Hall of St. Matthew’s Church, 382 Cantitoe Street in Bedford.  Wine is served during intermission and is included in the $40 ticket price.  Student tickets are available for $10 at the door.  To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.bedfordchamberconcerts.org or call 914-522-5150.
