Art Show: Bedford Enters Its 43rd Year

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The 43rd Annual Art Show: Bedford will take place Friday - Sunday at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Bedford.

The event will feature a blend of contemporary and traditional artwork, with an emphasis on affordability. The work will include original paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry and other tabletop objects created by talented local artists, as well as several Manhattan artists.

The two judges for this year’s show -- Peter MacGill and Mimi Thompson Rosenquist— are renowned in the Manhattan art world. 

MacGill, a Katonah resident, will judge photography in the show.

Rosenquist, formerly of Bedford, will judge the show’s paintings and sculpture.

The 2016 art show co-chairs are Laura Blau of Bedford and Laurie Sturz of Pound Ridge. 

Roy Secord will lead art activities for children ages 5 and up on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.

The Art Show kicks off with a Gala Preview Party on Friday, from 6:30 to 9 p.m.; the Exhibition Sale continues on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.

Preview Party tickets are $125 per person; $150 at the door. Admission to the Exhibition Sale on Saturday and Sunday is free.

Art Show: Bedford is the major annual fundraiser sponsored by the Women of St. Matthew’s Church. Proceeds generated by the art show are contributed various charities.

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church is at 382 Cantitoe St. (Route 22) in Bedford.
