First Niagara Bank Debuts in Bedford Hills

BEDFORD HILLS, N.Y.–  First Niagara Bank recently celebrated the grand opening of its new branch at 600 N. Bedford Road in Bedford Hills with a June 6 ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by Town of Bedford Supervisor Lee V.A. Roberts. 

First Niagara Bank's conversion of upstate New York and Connecticut branches from HSBC Bank was officially completed May 21, with the bank opening more than 100 former HSBC branches as First Niagara branches.

This makes 26 branches in the Hudson Valley and four in Westchester County. The other Westchester branches that switched over from HSBC are in Ossining, Mount Kisco and Yorktown Heights.

During the transition, First Niagara added more than 1,200 employees to its overall staff, including more than 250 in the Hudson Valley, according to a news release.

With the acquisition of HSBC branches now complete, the release states, First Niagara, which operates in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts, has nearly doubled its number of branches in New York state.
