Cyber Sleuths Bust Maywood Contractor With Child Porn: Bergen Prosecutor
A divorced contractor from Maywood was caught collecting child porn, authorities said. Keith J. Balasa, 55, was arrested during a raid of his Lafayette Avenue home on Friday, July 7, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Members of the prosecutor’s Cyber Crimes Unit found that Balasa “used the Internet to view, download and possess items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children,” Musella said. Bergen Mechanic, 63, Charged With Collecting Child Porn
A 63-year-old mechanic from River Vale was arrested Thursday on child porn charges, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella confirmed. John DeFilippo was taken into custody by members of the prosecutor’s Cyber Crimes Unit during a June 8 raid at his Westwood Avenue home, Musella said. The investigators had found that DeFilippo “used the Internet to view, download, and possess items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent children,” the prosecutor said. A Pennsylvania man has officially been charged with murder following the late November attack at a New Jersey home that left an 84-year-old woman dead and her son critically injured. Kyle Kaspereen, 24, is accused of carrying out the Nov. 30 attack at 122 Wayne Street in Washington Borough, causing the death of Elaine Trachin and severely injuring her 53-year-old son, Bart, who was found taped to his wheelchair with a garbage over his head, Warren County Prosecutor James L.
