Prisoner Swap: First Photo Shows New Jersey WSJ Reporter In Release From Russian Captivity
Evan Gershkovich is a free man. The 32-year-old New Jersey native was among three United States residents released from prison in Russia in on Thursday, Aug. 1, in what's being called the biggest prisoner swap between since 1991. Gershkovich, former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan, and radio journalism Alsu Kurmasheva, were the prisoners released to American soil. The massive swap freed more than two dozen prisoners from six different countries. TikTokers are putting a Pennsylvania restaurant on blast for apparently using its Facebook page to promote the distribution of unproven COVID-19 treatments. Taste of Sicily's social media manager Christine Mason has been posting videos to the Palmyra restaurant's social media page saying she has "H" or "I" -- Ivermectin and Hydroxychloriquine, Fox43 reports. A popular NBC New York reporter has died at age 47, the station announced. Dave & Busters is the latest company to crumble amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The food and games chain filed a WARN notice saying it will be laying off 107 New Jersey employees. Dave & Busters -- with New Jersey locations in Wayne and Woodbridge -- could file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy if a deal with lenders isn't reached, the Wall Street Journal reports. Six months after filing for bankruptcy, Toys 'R' Us will close all 800 of its U.S. stores, affecting as many as 33,000 jobs at the 70-year-old toy store chain. The company made the announcement to employees on Wednesday, according to the Wall Street Journal.
