Community Rallies For Roxbury Roads Supervisor Mourning Daughter, 28
The community is rallying for a Roxbury township employee mourning his daughter, who died recently at 28 years old. Kaitlynn LaBell of Mount Arlington passed away at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus on Dec. 19, surrounded by her family. Kaitlynn's father Paul LaBell is Roxbury's roads supervisor. A GoFundMe that raised more than $10,000 for the family says that Kaitlyn died suddenly and did not have life insurance. Morris County Ex-Con Who Exploded Bomb, Illegally Collected Weapons Gets 2 Years In Federal Pen
UPDATE: An ex-con from Morris County must spend the next two years in federal prison for detonating a bomb at a lake, owning explosive devices and illegally collecting a cache of guns and ammo. Christopher Faschan, 31, of Landing, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in August to unlawful possession of destructive devices and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition in exchange for leniency at sentencing. Father, Son Moving To Bergen County Together Die 6 Days Apart After Morris County Crash
A 28-year-old man died six days after his 69-year-old father of injuries sustained in a Roxbury car accident, authorities said. Vincent Borny had been fighting for his life at Morristown Medical Center following the crash that took his father Ken Borny's life Sept. 25, outside of Ledgewood Commons in Roxbury, his uncle Tom Borny said. Stanhope Man Dead, 2 Injured In Roxbury Crash, Police Say
A 69-year-old Stanhope man died after a Roxbury crash, police said. Roxbury police responded to the two-car crash Howard Boulevard at Ledgewood Plaza around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Roxbury Police spokesperson Jennifer Dillard said. It appeared that the crash occurred when one vehicle pulled out of the plaza and onto Howard Boulevard. The Stanhope man was a passenger in a 2015 Ford Fiesta driven by a 28-year-old Flanders man, and an 18-year-old man from Sparta was driving a 2004 Ford F350, Dillard said. Lenape Valley High School in Stanhope will be closed Wednesday due to damage possibly sustained in a tornado Tuesday. Anthony Archibald says he was inches away from death when a wrong-way driver zoomed past him in the fast lane of Route 280 in Parsippany. His dashcam captured it all. Lane Closures Planned On I-80 In Morris County Saturday Night
Lanes on I-80 in Rockaway, Roxbury and Jefferson will be closed overnight this weekend as part of the first phase of a bridge replacement project, the state Department of Transportation said. One lane eastbound will be closed beginning at 8 p.m. and a second at 10 p.m. Later Saturday, a westbound lane will be closed, followed by a second westbound lane. Safewise put several Bergen, Morris and Passaic County communities on the map as the safest places to live in America using newly-released crime data. The website considered crime rates and what people in these areas fear the most to compile its list of 100 cities, which saw 504 total offenses in 2017, the report says. Gov. Phil Murphy's proposed education investment plan for New Jersey would give millions to underfunded districts -- but would also take away hundreds from those that are thriving (about $90 million altogether). A 27-year-old tractor trailer driver from New York pulled a handgun on another driver while driving through Roxbury on I-80, authorities said. David Fonseca of Rochester was charged with two weapons offenses and aggravated assault, New Jersey State Police said.
