A business owner and his two sons were busted by Mahwah police who said they found them selling THC products to underage teens at their Route 17 gas station. Undercover buys led to the discovery in plain view of 360 THC products during a raid at the BP station on the southbound highway just past the Route 202 interchange, Mahwah Police Capt. A Paramus police officer caught a trio of teens with nearly two dozen pieces of mail -- tax-related paperwork, utility payments and such from Saddle River and Upper Saddle River -- during a traffic stop, authorities said. A lone gunman committed back-to-back-to-back armed gas station robberies less than 10 miles apart in Bergen and Passaic counties Monday afternoon, authorities said. The attendant was pistol-whipped at a Valero on northbound Route 17 just before Route 46 in Hasbrouck Heights shortly before 3 p.m. Feb. 5, responders said. Back-to-back fires behind two Ramsey shopping centers were deliberately set by an unemployed Rockland man, authorities charged. Nicholas Todaro, 37, of Orangeburg ignited the first one in a wooded area behind the Spring Street shopping center just off northbound Route 17 shortly after 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Roughly 20 minutes later, he set a second fire in a wooded area behind the Interstate Shopping Center nearly a mile down the road on the highway’s southbound side, the prosecutor said. : Serial Burglar Makes Bogus Calls To Divert Police Before Multiple NJ Drug Store Break-Ins
A hapless burglar tried to keep police in a half-dozen Bergen County towns busy with bogus calls of carjackings, kidnappings and other threats to try and buy himself time to break into local drug stores, federal authorities said. Michael J. Gynegrowski, 34, hit pharmacies in Cresskill, Hackensack, Oradell, River Vale and Teaneck, usually by breaking a window, they said.
