: Another Dead, Two Wounded In Latest Paterson Shooting
Paterson was already reeling from three fatal shootings in a single day when a 23-year-old Riverdale man was killed and a 19-year-old Elmwood Park man was critically wounded Tuesday in a hail of gunfire at one of the city's deadliest street corners. Gunfire erupted at Rosa Parks Boulevard and Godwin Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. Oct. 3. In addition to the dead and critically injured victims, a 57-year-old Paterson man took a bullet in the leg. Police: Ex-Employee Busted After Burglarizing Bergen Restaurant 5 Times
A former employee broke into an Oakland restaurant five times and stole $20,000, said police who arrested him. Artan Reci, 33, of Riverdale "entered the restaurant during the overnight hours on several occasions over the course of several weeks," Police Lt. Christian Eldridge said. The owners called police after reviewing surveillance video of the thefts, Eldridge said. Detectives then set up surveillance at the restaurant and caught Reci, he said. Sussex County Mega Millions Winner Buys Shuttered Florida Beach Resort
A former Vernon man who won $533 million playing the Mega Millions bought a shuttered 239-room Daytona Beach resort. Richard Wahl, who moved to Sarasota, FL after his big April 2018 win, purchased La Playa Resort & Suites at an April auction this year for $13.6 million, according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. The resort opened in 1975 and was sold in 2016 to Summit Hospitality for $9 million in 2016. Months later, the 9-story property was severely damaged in Hurricane Matthew.
