The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center has just released its outlook for the winter of 2024-25. Dueling Winter Weather Predictions Released By Old, New Farmer's Almanacs
The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its winter weather predictions for the 2024-25 season. This year's title speaks for itself: "The 2025 Old Farmer’s Almanac Forecasts a 'Calmer, Gentler' Winter." With a new winter storm taking aim on the area, the National Weather Service released an updated report Tuesday morning with the latest snowfall projections for Wednesday. Precipitation is expected to start as all snow for the entire region early Wednesday morning before quickly turning to sleet, freezing rain and then rain in and around New York City and along the coast.
