An Amtrak signal issue at New York Penn Station has suspended NJ Transit service on Friday, Jan. 12, officials said. All rail service on the Northeast Corridor, Raritan Valley Line and North Jersey Coast Line is suspended due to Amtrak signal issues, Kyalo Mulumba, a senior public information officer for NJ Transit said. A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in New Jersey, delaying rail service between Philadelphia and New York City Tuesday evening, Feb. 28, authorities said. The name of the man killed had not been released pending notification of family, said Lt. John Bresnen of the Plainsboro Police Department. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Friday in Elizabeth. Northeast corridor train 3838 struck the pedestrian at the Elizabeth station around 11:45 a.m., NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said. A man was struck and killed by a train Thursday night in Elizabeth, responders said. Northeast Corridor train 3891 struck the man near W. Grand Street station around 10:45 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said.
