Snow hasn't quite started falling in North Jersey but several districts are already set to open late. The National Weather Service is calling for between 4 and 6 inches of snow for much of North Jersey Monday, Jan. 15. The snow is expected to become a wintry mix Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, making for a slippery commute. Six Inches Of Snow Could Slam Parts Of NJ, PA: Latest Forecast, Timing Updates
Newly-released forecast maps from the National Weather Service show up to six inches of snow could fall across eastern Pennsylvania and much of New Jersey. Did you feel it North Jersey? A 1.7 magnitude earthquake in Astoria, NY was felt all the way up in North Jersey on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 2, according to the US Geological Survey. The earthquake was felt in Pompton Plains, Parsippany, West Orange, Union, Holmdel, Fort Lee, Ridgewood and Paterson, the USGS map shows. Massive Winter Storm With Snow, Ice Could End Sunny Week In Northeast
We've earned it. Forecasters are following the first winter storm of the season for the Northeast, expected to arrive this weekend, AccuWeather reports. Two North Jersey Powerball players got to ring in the holidays on a lucrative note. Their tickets, one sold in Fair Lawn and the other sold in Hewitt, matched four of the five numbers as well as the red Powerball, winning $50,000 in the drawing held on Saturday, Dec. 23. Battle rapper Tsu Surf must spend a plea-bargained five years in federal prison for what authorities described as a leadership role in a violent drug-selling Newark street gang. Snow Flurries Possible This Evening In Parts Of North Jersey
Wintry weather may be working its way through parts of North Jersey later today, Tuesday, Nov. 28. The National Weather Service was predicting up to a 40 percent chance of flurries in the northern and westernmost parts of the state in the late afternoon and evening hours. Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Morris, Union, Sussex, Warren, and Hunterdon counties could all see snow through the evening, according to the NWS.
