Hoboken Chef Wins Food Network's 'Chopped' Taco Brawl
A Hoboken eatery is sharing the secret sauce they've been holding on to for weeks. Kiersten Gormeley, founding owner and executive chef of SHAKA, won the Taco Brawl episode of "Chopped" on Food Network, taking home the $10,000 grand prize. The episode aired May 18. Gormeley felt confident going into the competition. Police: Paterson Man Charged With Attempted Murder For Trying To Kill Hoboken Amazon Worker
A 27-year-old Paterson man has been charged with attempted murder after trying to kill an Amazon worker at the company's Hoboken warehouse last fall, authorities said. Corey Ferguson shot the 32-year-old Newark victim multiple times in the upper body and in one of his legs at the Amazon warehouse on Monroe Street, around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 11, 2020, Hoboken Police Det. Hoboken police are seeking the public's help identifying a man wanted in a weekend shooting. The suspect was seen pulling over near 9th Street between Madison and Monroe in a four door dark colored sedan around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. The man then got out of the car and shot the victim several times, before getting back in his car and driving northbound out of Hoboken, Cabrera said. Click here to watch the video.
