Maali was born in Iran and grew up in Tehran, her obituary reads. She married her husband, Farzin, before fleeing to France amidst the Iranian Revolution in 1979, according to her obituary.  She moved to Los Angeles and later settled in the tri-state area with their son, Sherwin, her obituary reads. He was 40 years old.  He died from a rare form of nueroendocrine cancer, which he battled for eight months with "humor and grace," loved ones said.  Born in Red Bank to Timothy and the late Catherine O'Connell, he graduated from Holmdel High School and Boston College before embarking on a successful career as a financial adviser. Former Kinnelon Football Player Brian DeVeau, 28, Dead In California Car Crash Former standout Kinnelon football player Brian DeVeau died in a California car accident June 23. He was 28 years old. Services were held last weekend at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home. Kinnelon Athletics in a Tweet remembered DeVeau as an "unbelievable young man who always represented Kinnelon and his family with grace and dignity." DeVeau served as quarterback, running back and defensive safety for the Colts, and was a member of the all-county team.
