'Pray For Saniya:' Sadness Spreads Following Death Of Girl, 6, In Bayonne Fire
Sadness spread throughout Bayonne following the death of a 6-year-old girl in a fire Sunday, June 30. Firefighters found Saniya Felton unresponsive around 11:40 p.m., while responding to the flames and smoke that billowed from 438 Avenue C, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Saniya was taken to Bayonne Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m., Suarez said. Upstairs Neighbor Killed In Hudson County Apartment Fire
A 72-year-old man died in a Secaucus fire late Sunday, Jan. 15, authorities said. John Meisenburg was found inside of a third floor unit after a fire broke out in a second floor unit at caround 11:50 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Meisenburg was taken to Hudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:52 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16. Jersey City Man Dies Days After Apartment Fire
The 64-year-old victim of last week's Jersey City apartment fire died on Monday, authorities announced. Leon Howard was left critical following that blaze that broke out in his apartment in the Berry Gardens at 92 Danforth Ave., around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The blaze was contained to his unit and Howard was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center. Howard was pronounced dead at the hospital around 2 p.m. Dec. 13, Suarez said. An apartment fire that left a Jersey City man in critical condition is being investigated as possible arson, authorities announced. The 64-year-old victim was found in his Apartment 206 at 92 Danforth Ave. by firefighters around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Hudson County Arsonist Set Fire To Local Synagogue, Authorities Say
A man was being held on an aggravated arson charge in connection with a fire at a Hudson County synagogue earlier this month, authorities said. Oswaldo Domingo Xil-Argueta, 29, is accused of torching Mesivta Sanz Yeshiva and its synagogue on 34th Street in Union City around 3 a.m. on July 3, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
