Pedestrian Struck At Busy Intersection Outside Hackensack Park
A 23-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured in a busy Hackensack intersection, authorities said. An Advanced Life Support ambulance was summoned after he was struck by an Acura outside Johnson Park on River and East Anderson streets around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigations Unit was also notified. The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head trauma. His injuries were later downgraded to non-life-threatening, responders said. Reports that an NJ TRANSIT bus was involved were wrong, authorities said.

SUV Slams Into Utility Pole In Midland Park
A driver was hospitalized after his SUV struck a utility pole in Midland Park. Initial details were sketchy, but responders said the driver suffered head trauma in the early-morning crash on Erie Avenue near Smith Lane on Monday, Aug. 29. The road was closed as PSE&G made repairs to a pair of poles downed in the crash. The Toyota RAV 4 was towed. Bicyclist, 68, Killed In Park Ridge Crash
A 68-year-old bicyclist died after crashing at the bottom of a steep hill in Park Ridge, authorities said. The victim wasn't wearing a helmet as he headed down Spring Valley Road when he crashed near Doxey Drive shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Park Ridge Police Capt. Joseph Rampolla said. Sgt.. Michael Babcock and Officer Scott Malloy called for a medical chopper and provided medical assistance to the victim, who suffered severe head trauma, the captain said. A 63-year-old bicyclist was flown to a local hospital by a medical chopper after he was struck Sunday afternoon in Closter, authorities said. The victim was found lying face down, bleeding and unconscious – but breathing – after he was struck by a Toyota Camry shortly after 1:30 p.m. at the corner of Knickerbocker Road and Harington Avenue, Sgt. A 68-year-old Fort Lee woman was hospitalized Tuesday after her leg was pinned beneath the front of a turning SUV near the George Washington Bridge, authorities said. A 4-week-old boy was killed in a car crash Saturday night in Hackensack. The child apparently was on his mother’s lap when the late-model Mercedes sedan struck a utility pole in front of 286 Passaic Street just after 9 p.m., a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the tragedy said.
