County-Owned Rescue Truck Collides With SUV In Front Of Hackensack Fire Department
A crash involving a county-owned rescue truck and a Toyota SUV closed a Hackensack street Wednesday morning, Aug. 7. The crash happened right outside of the city's fire station on State Street around 10:30 a.m. The truck involved in the crash, often used for water rescues, was returning from a call when the incident happened, Hackensack Police Capt. Lyndhurst Police Officer Michael Clifford had a split-second to react when an enraged resident standing outside his home took a shot at the veteran lawman during what was supposed to be a welfare check. A 68-year-old visitor to the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Saddle Brook had to be hospitalized Thursday night after an elevator accident, authorities said.
