Monday, Nov. 4 was going to be a big day for Cameron Ray. It would have been the 19-year-old MSU sophomore's first day of work at Das' Creamery's new location, Das' Creamery MooTown Morris Marketplace, on East Hanover Avenue in Morristown. Ray, of Flanders, joined Das' staff in April 2021, and has brought light and life to the ice cream shop ever since, the shop's owners tell Daily Voice. Driver, 19, Killed In Route 80 Crash
A 19-year-old driver was killed in an early-morning Route 80 crash when he rear-ended a box truck stopped in the shoulder, authorities said. Cameron Ray, of Flanders, was heading west in a Subrau when he rear-ended the truck near milepost 38.2 in Denville around 5:40 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. Ray died as a result of the crash while the box truck driver suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.

Fleeing Driver Hits Officer, Arrested At NJ Costco: Police
A 27-year-old Denville man was arrested and charged after he struck a police officer while fleeing on Sunday, Oct. 20, authorities said. While officers were conducting a traffic stop on Indian Road, it was discovered the driver, Liam Harrigan, had an active NCIC Warrant out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Denville police said. As officers attempted to take Harrigan into custody, he fled from them in his vehicle, police said. Man Wanted By US Marshals Captured During Traffic Stop In Morris County: Police
A 33-year-old man wanted by the U.S. Marshals was arrested following a traffic stop in Morris County, police said. Marcus Olivera-Leon, of Elizabeth, was stopped in an unregistered vehicle for having a brake light out on Augusta Street and Legion Place in Denville around 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 23, local police said. Olivera-Leon, had active warrants for his arrest, and had been wanted by the United States Marshals, according to police. Police said only that he was wanted for violating probation. Authorities have released more information about a fatal crash on a busy New York road that left a New Jersey man dead. Peter Leist, 62, of Denville, NJ was heading west on Route 301 in Carmel, NY, when he crossed over the double yellow lines to pass a few vehicles and collided head-on with a small bus, around 2:10 p.m. Friday, May 31, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said. A 27-year-old Morristown man was arrested after he led police on a high-speed pursuit through Denville on the early morning of Thursday, Jan. 25. Morris County Football Club Treasurer Embezzled $100K, Police Say
The treasurer of a Morris County football club has been charged with stealing more than $100,000, police said. The Denville Blue Angels' FC treasurer, Gerald Castellano, stole more than $100,000 over an extended time, Denville police said on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The investigation began on Aug. 21. Castellano was charged on Oct. 3, with theft by unlawful taking, and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance date at the Morris County Superior Court.

Popular Grocery Chain Corrado's Market Shutters Wayne Location
Corrado's has closed its location in Wayne, the store confirmed to Daily Voice. The supermarket was located at 201 Berdan Ave. at the Point View Shopping Center and had been open since 2008. Corrado's still has markets in Fairfield, Denville and Clifton, according to its website. Corrado's did not give a reason for closing the Wayne location.
