Delaware Man Admits Peddling Heroin In NJ: Feds
A Delaware man admitted in federal court that he sold heroin in New Jersey, authorities said. Carl L. Jones, 49, of Newport, did business with "a confidential source who was working with law enforcement" in a commercial parking lot in Mount Laurel on March 29, 2019, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Sellinger said. According to Sellinger, Jones sold the informant a pound and a half of a a "mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of heroin." A Philadelphia man and his son are accused of carrying out a string of armed robberies across the mid-Atlantic states over a period of months, and the elder suspect is still at large, authorities say. Jamaal Mitchell, 42, and his 24-year-old son Jahmir Mitchell are charged with robbery, retail theft, terroristic threats, and related counts, said Tilden Township police in a release on Wednesday, April 26. After years of marital troubles, "Good Morning America" anchor Amy Robach has is divorcing former New Jersey resident and "Melrose Place" star Andrew Shue, Page Six reports. Shue, 55, married Robach in 2010 and have apparently been on the rocks for years, the outlet said citing one of the anchor's friends. Shue was born in Delaware but attended Columbia High School in Maplewood. He was later inducted into its Hall of Fame, and in 2020 delivered a congratulations to the school's graduating class. A 43-year-old man who was struck and killed by a car after being ordered out of a Lyft in Delaware over the weekend has been identified as one of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo's previous staffers.
