Loaded Ammo Magazine Lost By Law Enforcement Closes Street Near Tech School In Hackensack
A stretch of road off Route 4 in Hackensack was briefly closed Monday morning while a damaged ammunition magazine lost by a law enforcement officer near one of the Bergen County technical schools was retrieved. The magazine had been with a bag containing an AR-15 rifle and other magazines and ammunition that fell out of the back of a law enforcement officer's vehicle and was quickly recovered by city police last week, authorities said. UPDATE: A longtime Bergen County senior environmental health specialist from Paramus was suspended without pay after authorities said they caught him with more than 1,000 files of child pornography. Nathan W. Glotzer, 66, was being held Thursday in the Bergen County Jail following his arrest the day before on charges of child endangerment by possessing child pornography. Bergen Tech Students Make Donated Humvee Street Legal For Hackensack Police Department
Doing their part for public safety, a group of students in the Bergen County Technical School Basic Auto Body Class helped convert a donated Humvee to join the Hackensack Police Department’s fleet. The vehicles are used for high-water rescues in the city – which have been happening more frequently with the increased rainfall this year. The latest addition brings the department’s total to three and comes from Fort Dix through the LESO 1033 Program. “The students painted the vehicle as part of a school project for us,” said Officer Frank R. Justin Kane Of Rutherford Remembered For Work Ethic, Sense Of Humor
Justin Matthew Kane of Rutherford died on Sept. 4. He was 40 years old. Born in West New York, Kane moved to Rutherford at 15 years old and graduated at the top of his class from Bergen County Technical School, according to his obituary. He had an inherent knack for trade work and went on to land a career as a skilled mason. He is remembered in his obituary for his "work ethic, his incredible sense of humor and his love of family."
