The Braves finished 6-4 last season under veteran coach Joe Sabella, who took over the reins of the program in 2009. It was the first winning season for Sabella, and the first for Indian Hills since at least 2003, according to records on the MaxPreps website.
Senior quarterback Tim O'Brien provides optimism for this year's team at Indian Hills. Last year, he threw for 2,045 yards and 20 touchdowns. He fired for more than 300 yards in two games, including a thrilling 37-36 win over Passaic Valley in which he threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns.
His passing yardage was ninth in the state last year, and is the second highest among returning quarterbacks in New Jersey.
Junior running back Nick Andreotta also returns after rushing for a team-high 491 yards and six touchdowns. Indians Hills ended last season on a four-game winning streak.
Indian Hills competes in the Big North Conference's National Division. After a game against Northern Valley Regional on Sept. 18, Indian Hills plays its home opener on Sept. 25 against Fair Lawn.
