The local schools to watch organization started the process with a preliminary site visit. In September of 2015, all teaching staff took part in a school-wide assessment that self judged our preparedness to begin the application process. This survey asked teachers to consider criteria that fell into four major categories including:

  • Academic excellence
  • Developmental responsiveness
  • Social equity
  • Organizational structures.

On Friday, Jan. 29, Eisenhower Middle School spent the day being monitored by the NJ Schools to Watch organization. A seven-member team, made up of active principals, retired administrators, and college professors, conducted an in-depth investigation into our instructional practices, developmentally responsive programs, and overall school culture.

Eisenhower Middle School will be formally acknowledged at the New Jersey Association of Middle Level Educators (NJAMLE) Conference on March 11 and again in Washington, D.C. at the National Schools to Watch Conference in June.
