The Bergen County Hazardous Materials Unit responded, along with local firefighters, to what was a spill of about one liter in the school's 200 wing after 8 a.m., students and parents told Daily Voice.
"The 100 and 200 Wings of the high school will remain closed and our administrators have set up a plan to relocate students from those wings for the balance of the day," Schools Supt. Beverly MacKay told parents in an email.Parents told Daily Voice that students returned to their classes by 10:30 a.m.
"The cafeteria, as well as other areas of the building, have had air samples taken and all have come back clear," MacKay wrote. "All students in the immediate area of the spill were checked by the nurse and the parents were notified."
