The local each year offers two $1,000 college scholarships to high school seniors from Wyckoff who've been accepted to a junior college, college or university for the following academic year.
Union members review each application and select recipients who "have shown a strong commitment to community service and are pursuing a career in criminal justice, law, or a social science," the local said.
The scholarships allow it to "give back to the community that has been supportive of us for years," it said.
The "Detective Sergeant Michael Musto Memorial Scholarship" will honor the 20-year department veteran, his wife, Victoria, and their son, Zachary.
