Patrolman Kyle Ferreira became suspicious of the teen and aother boy, then saw them make an exchange, Fox said.

As he approached, both took off.

Ferreria chased down the 16-year-old, who the chief said is from Wyckoff.

He was carrying 315 Oxycodone pills in does ranging from 5mg to 80 mg.

Juvenile complaints were signed against the teen that are the adult criminal equivalent of drug possession on school property. He was released to the custody of his parents.

Police, meanwhile, were looking for the other boy.

Fox commended Ferreira for his work: “Addiction to this drug is at an all-time high, and addicts will stop at nothing to get what they need.

“The fact that a 16-year-old boy is in possession of such a high quantity of the drug further demonstrates the market that [exists] to obtain these pills,” Fox said. “Parents need to be very concerned if they suspect that their children may be taking or selling these narcotics.”
