Woman attacks husband, sets fire to house

A 65-year-old woman deliberately set fire to her North Jersey house after attacking her husband, authorities said today.

Stephanie Marrinan of Wyckoff was charged with arson and assault after setting the Monday night fire, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said today.

Marrinan called police at 11:10 p.m. to report the blaze in a detached garage.

Her husband, John, ” had left the home prior to the fire because of an argument that turned physical,” the prosecutor said, without elaborating.

John Marrinan returned while cops and firefighters were there, Molinelli said. His wife was immediately arrested.

The Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the blaze, limiting damage to the Sheldon Street structure, the prosecutor said. However, whatever the couple had in the garage was damaged, he said.

Stephanie Marrinan was released on $10,000 bail pending further court action.
