Port Authority police grab alleged molester on Jersey City street

BEYOND BERGEN: Port Authority police arrested a Jersey City man after a 23-year-old woman and witnesses told them he came up from behind and molested her outside a city church.

Witnesses on bicycles flagged two Port Authority officers in a marked unit who then spotted the suspect a short distance from the corner at Montgomery and Summit avenues following the 6 a.m. assault, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

The woman declined medical attention, he said.

Alfonzo Williams Jr., 37, was charged with criminal sexual contact.
