Jose A. Leroy, 40, was being held on $20,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary, theft and cocaine possession.

The INS also issued a detainer for Leroy, a Costa Rican national.

Officers Bryan Rowin and Joseph Noury were aware that money had been missing before — and that Leroy was the prime suspect — when they responded to an active alarm at the Ramapo Valley Road pizzeria just before 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Christian Eldridge told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

When they arrived, the found an older model white Ford Explorer that Leroy was known to drive parked in back, Eldridge said.

Out the front door moments later came Leroy, he said.
