Jonathan Reyes, 18, removed some but not all of the items from his pockets as he passed through a metal detector at a security entry point, Lt. John Bakelaar told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

“Ironically, it was the wrong court date and he wasn’t scheduled to appear,” Bakelaar said.

After a search, Officers Lucas Gallo, James Economou and Francis O’Brien found Reyes carrying marijuana and drug paraphernalia and charged him with possession of both, the lieutenant said.

He was released on a summons to appear — in Municipal Court.
