The boy's mother called police after he told her about the alleged incident just before 8 p.m. Wednesday on Hatfield Road, Lt. Christian Eldridge said.

Several officers responded but didn't find a vehicle matching the boy's description of a black Jeep or black van with a passenger wearing a sleeveless red shirt, he said.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call Oakland police: (201) 337-6171.
