Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit had 65-year-old Robert A. Patzelt of Woodsville, NH taken into custody on March 26 after interviewing the girl.
She told them that Patzelt “fondled her buttocks, showed her pictures of his genitalia which he had on his laptop computer and engaged her in conversation of a sexual nature,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
The parents contacted Wyckoff police, who called the prosecutor’s office, he said.
A search warrant was executed at Patzelt’s New Hampshire home by detectives from Molinelli’s office, the Wyckoff Police Department, the Grafton County Sheriff’s Department and the Haverhill Police Department. The prosecutor didn’t say what, if anything, they found.
Patzelt, who is single, was initially held in the Grafton County Correctional Facility. He was brought to the Bergen County Jail on Friday.
