Franklin Lakes Police Hunt $5,300 Church Check Thief

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Franklin Lakes detectives were searching for whoever took $5,300 in checks from a local church.

Valley National Bank security reported the cashing of the checks from the Most Blessed Sacrament Church on Monday, Capt. John Bakelaar said.

Detective Robert Grassi was investigating, he said.
