Franklin Lakes police charge homeowner, detain teens in drinking party

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Nearly 20 teens scattered into the woods after Franklin Lakes police busted an underage drinking party last night and issued a summons to the 50-year-old homeowner.

Several juveniles were detained and later released to their parents pending Family Court hearings.

Police intend to issue delinquency complaints against several other teens, as well, once they’ve investigated further, Lt. John Bakelaar told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

Kenneth Mathieson was charged with maintaining a nuisance after Sgt. Mark McCombs and Officers Nicholas Klein and Donald Wison responded to noise complaints at the Benley Drive residence, the lieutenant said.
