A call of an in intoxicated and juvenile passed out in the neighborhood brought police to the Summit Avenue home of Soneca Guadara just before 8 p.m. Friday, Capt. John Bakelaar said.
Officers found alcohol being served and nine more juveniles, he added.
They charged the 47-year-old former Mrs. Bergen County with maintaining a nuisance and leaving property in the custody of another where alcohol was being served to minors, Bakelaar said.
An initial release from authorities said that Guadara was arrested, but she told Daily Voice that she wasn't.
"The crazy thing is that today is Tuesday and I have yet to been even summoned a notice from my police department, not to say I won't," Guadara wrote in an email Tuesday afternoon. "However, I was never taken in custody or told my rights. Bottom line is [I] was never arrested."
