Franklin Lakes Brothers Busted With Pound of Pot, Steroids, $19,500 Cash

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Authorities seized a pound of marijuana, nearly $19,500 in cash, steroids and drug-packaging materials from two brothers who they said were dealing pot from their Franklin Lakes home.

Manuel Alvarez 24, and Daniel Alvarez, 22, were released on summonses pending May 25 arraignments in Central Municipal Court in Hackensack on various drug charges.

They also were charged with trying to conceal or destroy evidence, authorities said.

The pot found during the Cobblestone Court raid last Tuesday had a street value of $3,500, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Grewal thanked the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Park and Franklin Lakes police for their assistance.
