An officer spotted the gray 1997 Nissan sedan headed north on JFK Boulevard with two passengers and a bogus inspection sticker in the window, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The officer caught up to him and a brief scuffle followed until backup PAPD police helped subdue him, he said.

They later found 23 clear plastic bags of heroin in the car, as well as $1,500 in bogus checks that a female passenger, 24-year-old Katlynn Devaney, was carrying, Pentangelo said.

Records shw Roberts served a year in state prison from 2006 to 2007 and then nearly four from July 2008 to March 2012.

He was charged with drug posession, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Devaney, of Weehawken, was charged with possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and fraudulent checks.

The second passenger, Joshua Lawrence, 25, of Jersey City, was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
