Responding to a 1:35 a.m. burglar alarm at Rose’s Pizzeria on River Drive this morning, Sgt. Mario Pozo and Officer Sebastian Tyburski found the front door glass shattered and the register gone, Detective Lt. Richard Ulam said this afternoon.

Moments later, BCSO K-9 Officer Joseph Cutrona and Radar followed a trail to Hobart Place residence, where they arrested 40-year-old Garth S. Gormley, he said.

Gormley was being held on $7,500 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

The sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.
