FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- A fugitive wanted by authorities in Georgia for torching a house there -- after being accused of stalking a Hall of Fame football player from that area -- was captured by Franklin Lakes police.

Franklin Lakes police stopped Michele Bundy-Evans, 45, just after 1:15 p.m. Thursday on Franklin Avenue, Capt. John Bakelaar said.

Bundy-Evans, who currently lives in New York City, had a light out on her vehicle and was impeding the flow of traffic, Bakelaar said. She also had no license, registration or insurance, he said.

A computer check turned up an outstanding warrant on first-degree arson charges for allegedly setting fire to a residence in Atlanta-area DeKalb County, GA, the captain said.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the incident involved Shannon Sharpe, a Georgia-born former all-pro tight end who lives in Atlanta.

Bundy-Evans made headlines in 2010 after filing a restraining order against Sharpe -- a three-time Super Bowl winner who currently hosts a sports TV show -- when, in fact, she'd been stalking him after he refused to date her, various media reports said at the time.

The order was quickly dismissed.

Bundy-Evans was first taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center on Thursday for a psychiatric evaluation before being transferred on Friday to the Bergen County Jail, where she remained pending extradition proceedings.
