Charles R. Tulner, 83, Of Wyckoff

WYCKOFF, N.J. – Charles R. Tulner, a resident of Wyckoff, died Friday, June 10. He was 83.

Born in Midland Park, he lived in Wyckoff for many years. He was a member of the Faith Reformed Church, American Legion Post #130, Midland Park, was a member of the Bergen County Baseball Hall of Fame and played for the Midland Park Rangers prior to playing four years for the Cincinnati Reds' farm system.

He was retired after 32 years as a mailman with the Midland Park Post Office and worked for 10 years for the Ho-Ho-Kus school system. He was an avid gardener and the proud owner of Vest Pocket Farm. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his children Jeffrey Tulner and his wife Kim of Wyckoff and Debra Kozlowski and husband Leon of Hawthorne.; grandsons Sean Tulner, Kyle Tulner and L.J. Kozlowski; granddaughters Lindsay Tulner and Chelsea Oneglia and her husband Mike; great-granddaughter Olivia Rose; sister Catherine Blom; and niece Megan Bourke.

He was predeceased by his wife Elaine; and parents August and Carola.

Visiting will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
