WYCKOFF, N.J. – Armand A. Durante, a Wyckoff resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 20. He was 95.
Before retiring, he worked for Milliken Textile and various other textile companies. He was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church in Wyckoff and a two-term member of their consistory and president of the deacons, as well as a member of Activities Unlimited. He was an avid tennis player and lifetime die-hard Giants fan for both football and baseball. He was a Merchant Marine veteran who served the United States proudly during World War II.
He was the husband of the late Lois (Johnson); father of Richard Durante and David Durante, both of Wyckoff; grandfather of Christopher Durante and his wife, Christy, and Scott Durante; and great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Jeweleanne, Hailey, Anthony, Charlotte and Julianna.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will take place at Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery, Wyckoff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Wyckoff Reformed Church, 580 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
