Ana I. Bartel, 85, Of Wyckoff

WYCKOFF, N.J. – Ana I. Bartel, a resident of Wyckoff, died Tuesday, June 21. She was 85.

Born in Quito, Ecuador, she emigrated to the United States in 1954. She was a homemaker and lived in Lodi and Pine Beach.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jeanette Gold and her husband Bruce, Cecilia Lesznik and her husband Gaspar and Ines Chiarello and her partner John Sorensen; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Sandra, Margaux, Felicia, Giana, Ilona, Gaspar and Marica; two great-grandsons, Yehuda and Yaakov; three sisters, Eugenia Chiriboga, Ines Araujo and Clemencia Chiriboga; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Belisario, Eduardo, Gustavo, Alfredo Torres; and a sister, Midge Palacios.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will be private.
