Franklin Lakes High School Photographer Named National Geographic Finalist

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — Bergen Catholic junior Nicholas LaScala of Franklin Lakes was named among the finalists in the National Geographic Student Photo Contest.

LaScala’s photo — “Nature’s Playground” — was one of 24 chosen out of 2,300 entries.

The photographer pictures a snowmobile catching air in the Adirondacks after a storm.

The contest is currently in the "People's Choice" phase and winners will be chosen within the next two weeks.
