The pond is adjacent to the Express Scripts corporate campus on Old Mill Road. The ceremony will be at 6 p.m. in the ball field adjacent to the parking lot for the park.

The opening is the culmination of an agreement reached between the borough and Express Scripts, which provides for the donation by Express Scripts of 84 acres of passive and active recreational parkland to Franklin Lakes.

Among the other terms of the agreement are the corporation's commitment to remain in Franklin Lakes, the borough's acquisition of the child care center — located on the donated parcel — and settlement of ongoing tax appeals.

Borough officials recently named the new park as “Parsons Pond Park” as it is located on Parsons Pond Road and features the pond.
