Young Wyckoff Resident Raises Money For Sick Puppy

WYCKOFF, N.J. — Tatum Gonzales is raising money to cover medical bills for her dog, Yonkers, only two weeks after her own mother was cleared of breast cancer.

The 19-year-old township resident raised more than $900 through a GoFundMe account she created last month with a goal of raising $5,000 "as soon as possible because (Yonkers) is really suffering,” Gonzalez said.

Yonkers has been treated for several medical conditions since being rescued at three weeks old by the Gonzales family in October 2011. She still suffers from several allergies, which Gonzales says are only getting worse.

"She's always itching and she has a lot of rashes," said Gonzales, who is pained by the whimpers nearly every night.

Marion Gonzales' November 2014 diagnosis of breast cancer was a financial setback for the family. Now that Marion is back on her feet, Tatum and her family are determined to get Yonkers the medical attention she needs.

“I love (Yonkers) to death and seeing her hurt really hurts me,” Gonzales said. “I’d do anything to help her.”
