Payton Sargenti, of Wyckoff, was recently diagnosed with lymphoma in her small intestines.
It is a curable form of cancer, but Sargenti’s treatment plan includes six months of chemotherapy.
“The blood we help collect will be reserved for Payton and her future needs during her procedures,” states an online invitation for the blood drive.
“It's not often that you have a chance to positively impact the life of someone, but here is a great opportunity to do so,” the invitation states.
The blood drive will be held on Monday, Oct. 2, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fitness Together of Wyckoff, 386 Franklin Ave.
Walk-ins are welcome. All donors will receive free health screenings, including cholesterol, blood pressure, iron, pulse and blood type. Those wishing to donate should weigh at least 110 pounds, bring identification and eat before donating.
