Tenafly Diner, 16 W. Railroad Ave., Tenafly, (201) 567-5522
Been Around Since: The diner opened in 1927 and was bought by Owner Michael Kontolios in 2001.
Known For: Healthy options. The diner serves only grass-fed beef and steaks, and organic produce."We believe it’s a better alternative to normal corn-fed because cows aren't not fed antibiotics," said Kontolios. "It's all 100% organic."
Also stick around for brunch — think French toast tiramisu tower paired with mac & cheese squares; gourmet fries — sweet potato or marinara with mozzarella; and of course, New York cheesecake… all big enough to be lunch again tomorrow.
Behind the Scenes: Lots of celebrities pop in here including Chris Rock, Bill Murray, Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia and Alpine's Tracy Morgan, who usually opts for delivery.
